Missouri Chapter of the Walnut Council Announces their Spring Field Day

The Missouri Chapter of the Walnut Council will be having their spring field day on March 20 and 21 in New Florence and Callaway County.

It will feature a tour of the Independent Stave Mill where participants will see a demonstration of log scaling and walk through the flow of the production in a stave will. The Business meeting that evening will be a the Scenic Regional Library in Hermann. After dinner there will be a discussion with foresters on the opportunities and challenges in growing and managing white oak.

The second day will be at the Harlan Palm Estate Tree Farm in Callaway County. Brandon Palm will give an overview of the history of the farm and all the work his father had done. Topics for the day will be thinning and invasive species control, pruning trees, and a demonstration of a Stihl power pole saw.
