Hike through Beall Woods to Learn about woodpeckers and winter tree identification. After lunch, experts will demonstrate forestry stewardship tools and UAV (drone) and share available resources for woodland maintenance.

September 18-20, 2025: Illinois Forestry Association 20th Annual Conference. Lewis & Clark Community College, Godfrey, IL. Here’s what you can look forward to:

April 26, 2025: 8:30-2:30 PM. Co-meeting with Iowa chapter. Mathers Farm, Stronghurst, IL in Henderson County. Topics include plantation planting, plantation harvest marked and sold, soils, and laws on log transportation and enforcement.

April 5, 2025: Family Forestry Field day at McCully Heritage Project, Kampsville, IL. Topics to include: Growing Shiitake Mushrooms, Plant & Tree ID, Invasive Plant Management, Illinois Plant Disease and Pests Update, Prescribed Grazing, Portable Sawmill Demonstration, Prescribed burn discussion, Aerial drone spraying.

April 13, 2024: Family forestry field day at the Trimble farm, Hindsboro (Douglas County). This year, our field day is designed to bring current management practices and inspiration to all who attend. Topics include timber stand improvement, avoiding invasive plants, forest soils, tree plantings, forest health, and activities for school aged children.

February 17, 2024: 10 am-2:30 pm CT, Calvert Farm near Carmi, IL.
